Location
On the Western Sea Coast of Karnataka, in India, South Canara is one of the districts. Here, on the bank of the river Netravathi lies Bantwal Taluk. Going further along the bank, one comes over a small town called Vittal. Moving 5 K.M. along the Kasargod road, we come across an arched gate-way to Alike. This place is called Padibagilu. Entering this, we find many sophisticated school buildings at the foot of a stretch of green hill stations. The place where this campus lies is called Sathya Sai Vihar.
This institution was born in the year 07-12-1960 at Bantwal Taluk of Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka. It is surrounded by a beautiful green mountains. Without any kind of discrimination on the basis of caste, religion and sect, it firmly stood on the only motto called, “One’s emancipation and good of one’s fellowmen”. It is further strengthened by a group of dedicated and saintly personalities working for the establishment of a safe and secure society. Their aim is to eradicate all the evils in the society and to transform the future generation. So, they initially took up various service activities, seminars on spiritual matters and human values. However in the year 1960, the founder, Sri Madiyal Narayana Bhat along with other dedicated youths realized that, only through the true and value based education, they could fulfill their aim. Since then many educational institutions rose up and all the dreams of the founder came into reality.
